Aaahh my god this housing is STUNNING! I am so glad they released this color, now I’m just crossing my fingers that they release the backplate at some point so I can complete the look (and maybe a Dpad for the left controller). The feel of these is very smooth but I actually prefer the smooth to the original joycon texture. Everything was easy for me to install, but I’ve rehoused my switch a few times before so I had a good idea of how it would go. I did not use the tools/screws provided, so I cannot speak about their quality, but the quality of the shells is beautiful. The buttons come in a mold and you have to pop them out, so I did have to file the edges just a tiny bit to get the sharp points off. I only used their SR/SL buttons for the side

If you find yourself needing to replace the thumb sticks to correct the”stick drift” issue, you might as well treat yourself to a nice shell replacement, because you’re going to have to dive neck-deep into the disassembly anyways. I’m not sure how to describe how comfortable these Joy-con shells feel, but if you have ever felt something that you considered to be”fuzzy and plastic” at the same time, this is that material. It feels amazing, and the wood-grain variety looks stellar. The”fuzzy plastic” offers added grip and will bring new life into your old, worn pair of Joy-cons. I recommend it! +1 for all the required (and excess) screws, springs, and plastic. The kit has everything you need to do the swap, although I already had the tools for the job. Extremely satisfying quality-of-life improvement to a Joy-con needing repair!

So I was really digging this kit; had the whole right joy-con unit together. I’m just about to finish the left one, and just when adding on the final screw I notice the finish on mine was missing, like it missed painting that part…. You know what a pain in the butt it would be undo both joycons and send them back for an exchange right?? I’ve reached out to the company to see if they will send me a replacement. I will update my review when I hear back. I’ve enclosed pictures the unfinished plastic panel. I highly suggest you give yours a look over before you put it together.
