Opened the pool this season to a cloudy mess (which means I need a winter cover). I had some basic (cheap) Algaecide, but that wouldn’t take care of this mess. So I dumped what I had of the cheap stuff in, and order this thru Amazon. I was a bit cheaper, by a few dollars, at the In the Swim website, but they then charged you ten bucks to ‘handle’ it, although they advertised free shipping. It came in 1 day, instead of 2, yeah! I dumped the whole thing in and ran my filter for ~3 days straight. This product killed the algae, then it dropped to the bottom of the pool. I vacuumed that up, then back-washed the filter, and ran the filter over night for 1 more night, and the algae bloom is but a memory now.
Just what the Pool Dr. ordered
I did not know there were great differences among algaecides. The first one took me 9 days to quit putting up brown, scummy foam and not dealing with the algae problem. After the first bottle, in a 25,000 galloon pool, I could finally see the bottom and in three days my problem went away. I used it all summer as recommended on the bottle and it was simply terrific. It never affected the PH or chlorine levels. Because of the warm winter we had in Iowa, this was the first time in 31 years I ever had an algaecide problem. But, now I will never be without this product. I am not an expert, but this worked.
Works Incredibly Well
