Truck owner? Get this. I’ve owned a couple of these for the past year and just added one more to my arsenal? Why? One bar works nicely for daily use, near the tailgate, to keep groceries & cargo from floating all around the bed. But principally, I bought these because I offroad in my 4WD Toyota Tundra, and on multi-day expeditions I need something (a) to keep the wood and water tanks secure under the cross-box; (b) the ice chest locked down to the bed; and (c) cargo bags secured. I’ve done four-day trips into Death Valley with these bad-boys, and between the dust and the washboard vibration you’d think they’d rattle right off. Nope; never once. It’s a great product and for me, a must-have for any pick-up truck.
Must Have for Pick’m-Up Trucks….
If it had a bit more flexible feet or some sort of spring loaded ends to it it might be easier to get set. As is, once you hit bulkhead its pretty much done. the feet don’t give at all. The ratchet clicks are a bit too far apart. So its pretty tight or damagingly tight never good n’ tight. Part of the problem is my bed liner I suppose. Its not a”sticky” surface. Like rubber on paint would be. But like I said, the feet are too hard to really seat them onto something well either. IT’ll do for my purposes. Just keep groceries from sliding forward. Don’t know what else it would be capable of. YYMV based on surface you’re pushing against.
I was hoping for better. but it does an ok job.
I have a 2016 ram 1500 longhorn with the built in bedliner. This bar works perfectly. Once you figure out exactly how to open it,tighten it, adjust it and loosen it its great! Its solidly built, and can easily be placed anywhere in the bed of a pickup. The only thing i dont know yet is longevity. Update A few months after i got this cargo bar it broke. It works well for light weight items but thats it. I transport paint in the bed of my truck and i had some five gallon buckets slide into the bar. They only slid about 10 inches but that was enought to bend the bar and make it unusable. Hope this helps.
Exactly what i was looking for! Til it broke
