Get this and you won’t need or want a boxspring! This is way better than a classic”4 bars” rectangular bed frame in terms of support down the middle or sitting on the edge of the bed (my old boxspring bowed a little bit on one of those). It comes in two parts and folded into quarters, so great if you have to get it up stairs or around corners where boxspring won’t get through. Easier to assemble with two people, but I did it myself. With just mattress it is as high a typical mattress-boxspring-bedframe set, yet leaves room underneath for shallow storage bins. Because I use a bug protector cover on my mattress, I did lay some cardboard and masonite sheets I had around on top so I didn’t risk ripping cover on any bars, but I was being extra cautious. I’ve been using this box spring for about 6 months now, and I’m very pleased with it. It’s extremely easy to set up, sturdy and durable. I have a Queen Size, 12 Inch Thick, 4 Pound Density Visco Elastic Memory Foam Mattress (also purchased on Amazon) on top of it. Anyone else who owns one of these mattresses knows it’s a *very* heavy mattress. I (a nearly 200 lbs. male) have stood on the bed to hang Christmas lights over my curtain rods with no creaking, sagging, or unsteadiness (except for the unsteadiness of the mattress). My bed’s headboard and footboard are connected by side rails, and I was worried that the box spring’s legs would be too wide to accommodate the use of the rails. In my case, this was not a problem. First off, I am a big guy (220 lbs), but not that big. The wires on the bottom of the boxspring actually bent, so now there is an indentation on my side of the bed when I sleep. It’s terrible. I’m going to have to buy a new one unless they decide to give my money back.
Do not buy if you weigh over 210 lbs. Beware.
