Peanuts belong to the legume family, which includes beans and peas. Peanuts don’t grow on trees like real nuts, but instead in papery pods that grow beneath the soil. A thin reddish-brown skin that’s difficult to remove surrounds the peanuts after you shell them.

18” Copper electroplated REAL acorn nut pendant necklace. That perfect little touch for your fall style. I love doing organic items. They definitely take more prepping to prepare them and seal them properly. But when they’re done you have a perfectly preserved organic real item under all that copper. Sealed in copper forever. This is called electroformed jewelry or eformed jewelry. It’s created using copper and electricity. Bathed in a special copper acid solution for hours or days with electricity to build and form copper through a design built by the artist (me 😉). I create my eformed jewelry with polished gemstones, copper wire and the eforming process creating each piece individually from beginning to end. No one piece will ever look the same due to the variation in the copper bathing. Unique colors are created through the patina process. I do offer custom designing but please understand that with the uniqueness of this art some of the creation are not controllable. It’s literally like a science project with each piece. Sometimes the results are an unexpected unique style. As an artist I embrace each and every creation. 💗 Ques & Answer: Q. Why does copper turn my skin green? A. The acidic nature of human sweat and other chemicals on the skin, such as soaps, lotions and makeup, react with the copper. This reaction causes a green patina or surface coating to form on the copper, and that color gets transferred onto the skin. If copper reacts to your skin this way simply use a coat of clear finger nail polish.
