Just what I needed to cover up my dog’s scratch marks at the door! I use one below the handle on both the inside and outside of my backdoor and am so thankful. These saved me from having to resurface my back door and makes letting the dog in so much less stressful because I don’t have to worry about her claws peeling off the paint anymore.

The installation was difficult due to the hardness of the stainless steel. Cutting holes for my door’s dead-bolt and entry knob was a challenge. It looks great, but was a real project. Of course I’m glad it is hard steel, all the more protection.
Very hard to cut holes in
These work great… however, keep two things in mind. 1) fingerprints galore 2) hollow door means some screws will have nothing to grip to. **Update 21 October 2014** I lowered my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. I liked these push plates until 3 of my customer’s hands were sliced by the very sharp edge on them. I didn’t believe it until I personally brushed my fingers across the edge and found that the metal was sharp enough to slice my finger open. It requires a person to place their fingers along the edge and then slide them down in order for it to happen… but with hundreds of customers using my doors, it will only continue to happen. Currently looking for another solution…..
