9. OP/TECH USA Tripod Strap (Nature)
“ Nice for hiking. ” one person writes. “ easy to use ”, says one reviewer. As one reviewer recalls: “ Not as good as a camera bag “.
Fits Manfrotto 190Go Aluminum with XPro ball head perfectly. The swivel clip is best. It’s not a light tripod, yet with this I cannot feel the tripod on my back. My hiking bag does not have good straps for a tripod, I put this over my shoulder around the hiking bag. I also use it without the hiking bag. The swivel version allows you to quickly use it if you see something while hiking. The other version you’d have to unclip both ends. If you do any Landscape and your bag does have a good tripod holder, you still might want this thing. I tend to not use camera bags with hiking as they only store camera gear. I use the LowePro Top loader for the camera, which will go in the bag or on my chest, with a 24-70 2.8 and this for the tripod. Then the hiking bag
Nice for hiking.
This tripod strap with the loops on each end will fit any tripod and is well made and easy to use. This is the second Op/Tech I have purchased and this one is much easier to use. I like the no slip shoulder pad, It grips your jacket or shirt well and takes a lot to get it to slip off. I usually just leave the top section on my tripod and undo the strap around the feet so when ready to move I just have to snap the lower and I’m ready to put it on my shoulder. The straps have adjustable locking snaps so once you adjust it to fit well you don’t have to do it again.
easy to use
Toting tripods is a chore. I decided to try this product to see if it worked better than my”USA Gear Padded Tripod Case Bag by USA Gear (Holds Tripods from 21″ to 35″ Folded)”, $24.99. Overall I found it much less useful than my tripod bag. = The carrying strap was too short to be looped over my head to allow the tripod to lie on one side of my body and the strap to go across my chest and over the opposite shoulder. This is the only secure way to carry a tripod. But because the strap is too short, it only went over the shoulder on the same side as the tripod, and kept slipping off my shoulder so I had to keep pulling it back up. Not satisfactory. = The bag does a better job protecting the camera from the tripod head than the strap.
