I was able to finally use my new order and i must say it worked amazingly awesome, it was great, no smell and got my hk p30 all sparkly clean. I will continue to use hoppes as I Love this stuff been using hoppes 9 for years on all my fire arms and rifles, the Original stuff is great but has a strong Oder and you must use it in a well ventilated area. to where the Elite stuff has no oder what so ever, works just as good if Not Better. It’s magic. I love this and I am convinced you will to. Be safe and happy shooting.

… new order and i must say it worked amazingly awesome, it was great

I have been a fan of Hoppes for years. It has always worked well for me, but the smell has always been a problem. I have to say this new formula is a nice improvement. It appears to clean just as well as Hoppes #9, but there isn’t that nasty odor to go along with it. Yes, it’s just a bit more expensive, but I plan on using this product from now on. Unless, of course, I run into a problem removing some serious fouling. But I haven’t had a chance to put it to that test yet. Update 10/2015: I’ve been using this for about 2 years now and I have to say it’s really a great cleaner. The lack of the old Hoppes ‘stink’ has been really nice. And I’ve yet to run into any cleaning that I can’t address with this product. Moving my review from 4 to

Nice to get rid of the odor

This is a very effective cleaner, and it really is odorless, which means I can use it in the house. As others point out, the wife can’t smell it! According to the SDS on the Hoppe’s website, Elite Gun Cleaner contains no ammonia (shouldn’t be a surprise, since Hoppe’s has been in the gun cleaner business for over 100 years… they know what they’re doing!). My one complaint is that there are NO instructions! Literally, the directions on the bottle are”Directions: Unload firearm. Please refer to your firearm manual for proper maintenance of your firearm. For more cleaning instructions, visit [Hoppe’s website].” I’m not asking how to clean a gun, but it would be nice to know… Is it more effective if I let this stuff soak in for an hour? How about overnight? Is it bad to let it dry? Will it damage rubber grips? (For the record,
