Secure your backcountry-hungry boards to your tele boots with the Voile Hardwire 3-Pin Telemark Ski Bindings, and go break trail. The unique heel assembly locks to the heel plate so you can tour with only your toe attached to the Hardwire’s durable aluminum 3-pin toe box. That means zero uphill resistance for quick strides up the skin track.

Telemark! It’s special and by far the most interesting ski technique. Why? Because no other technique gives the same sensations when skiing. Here we’ll explain why the telemark turn is so satisfying and hopefully convince you to try, if you’re not already a fanatic. In the old days of narrow skis, 3-pin bindings and wobbly boots telemarking was pretty difficult and also very imprecise. This gave it a certain charm and it was fun, but performance was limited, to say the least. The latest boots and bindings offer excellent control and allow much more power to be applied to the ski, and with much more finesse. It’s this variety that makes freeheel skiing such fun. Depending upon how you feel one can parallel ski, telemark with a high or low stance, every turn is a new experience. There’s so much variety possible that even green and blue pistes are fun. We’ve plenty of info about the gear, please see these pages for more details at Shop Ski telemark: Telemark Skis Telemark Bindings Telemark Boots

evo.com | Nordica Skis > Rip groomers, blast through chopped up off-piste snow, and regain trust in your ability to lay an edge anywhere on the mountain with the powerful and versatile Nordica Enforcer 93 Skis. Built around an Energy 2 Titanium core that boasts two sheets of metal for a stiffer flex and damp feel in variable conditions, the Enforcer 93 Skis are a great daily driver option for those who like to ski hard, ski fast, and feel completely confident in their edge. Sintered Graphite Base Poliamide Top Foil We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width. Early Rise Tip and Tail Rocker Gentle, early-rise rocker tips make it super easy to initiate turns and set an edge while the slightly turned up tails increase control by making it easy to release the skis from a turn. We all know what skiing is, right? You strap some boards on your feet and glide across the snow. But what is it called when you choose to ski uphill rather than take a lift? And what are those people doing who cruise by, kicking their skis out to the side like they’re ice skating? …
PHOTOS Winter
East Coast skiing typically gets written off in favor of western mountains with bigger vertical and deeper powder. But this season, with Colorado and Utah suffering from a relative snow drought, the resorts dotting New England, upstate New York, and even Quebec look more appealing than ever. Thanks to an arctic cold snap (that’s thankfully over) and a handful of storms, there’s fresh snow blanketing authentic ski towns from Lake Placid to Maine. Read on for nine that are worthy of your turns this winter.
