We went back to the drawing board with a totally redesigned drop bar road bike, featuring improved dual shifting capability, and new triple crank gearing to conquer even the steepest hills and fastest descents you can find. Whether you need a light and fast commuter bike or a versatile touring bike for any weekend adventure, the new PUBLIC R24 is ready and raring to be your go-anywhere, do-anything road bike. The versatile drop bars with modern, dual control shifters allows many riding positions from semi-upright to aerodynamic, and we added secondary inline brake levers for convenient braking in city traffic from the most upright position. Our elegant silver quill stem provides steady range of height adjustment to easily dial in your ideal fit. The dual control shifters ensures easy-to-operate, light and responsive shifting, powerful braking, and the Shimano Claris derailleur group boasts the same reliable performance as far more expensive road bikes. All on our lightweight, handcrafted chromoly steel road bike frame that is warranted for life. Unlike most other road bikes on the market, the PUBLIC R24 is designed for urban utility, with slender silver alloy fenders to keep you dry in inclement conditions, and front and rear rack mounts for a wide range of cargo carrying options. Narrow 28mm puncture-resistant tires smooth out rough city streets with a quick and nimble ride, and quick release wheels make it especially easy to carry on a roof rack or backseat for recreational rides out of town. The antique brown bar tape and riveted racing saddle, coordinating rims, and cable housing complete the signature PUBLIC design.
