I purchased the PowerNail Palm Floor nailer on March 3, 2020. It arrived on March 5th. It was put into service on March 7th. I am/was installing 5/8″ stranded bamboo flooring at the time of this review. I’m using a Freeman PF18GLCN Pneumatic 18-Gauge 1-3/4″ L-Cleat Flooring Nailer for Bamboo and Exotic Flooring for the main field. Pros: This will do the job that it’s intended for and was an instant time saver. I read through lots of the reviews and was leery about the”air” leakage issue many were having but was willing to take the risk as I had a high number of tight and close nailing issues to deal with. For those who are not familiar with it, it continuously piston-hammers in a single cleat nail until it is sunk into the floor board. First of all, I will say this thing saved my butt many times. It has dual use. Nailing in impossible to use the floor nailer location, and driving in partially nailed floor nailer misfires. Because of this, I love this thing. Now, why I hate it… as others said, it will bend the nail unless you pre-drill a hole. But it still has a chance of bending even on pre-drilled holes. This applies to me for sure as I was using hickory boards. And on the subject of it, not pre-drilling a hole, and successfully driving a nail in will give you a tighter, sucked-in wood board. Pre-drilling gives you higher chance of no bend, but doesn’t seem to be

ok well this thing is pissy, like some people. price is to high for how well it does / does not work. I excels at putting in the cleats that didn’t set flush. But all to often it bends nails in the starter row. wasting tons of nails. it folds them over like a napkin. too little, to much pressure your screwed . i had to tap start the cleats, by taping the slightly to get it started then slam it home. all with 100 psi. anything less folds em like butter. slam them in folds em like butter. also your angle will make a world of difference dont angle it steep into the tongue. and dont put it in straight to face nail the starter row. wait do try it once you will see the 4 dozen bent cleats you wasted trying. once i got it. i would bend 1 out of 5. instead
